Filter for skill and conditions
Soft sand 4WD, strong currents, extreme sun. If you are not fully prepared, stay in Cape Range or the towns.

Is there a park entry fee for Nyinggulara (Ningaloo) National Park?
Official pages state no park entry fee. Camping fees still apply when campgrounds are open and booked via official Park Stay channels. Always VERIFY any fee changes on Explore Parks WA — this site never sells or affiliates park fees.
Can I camp in Ningaloo National Park right now?
Do not assume yes. After Cyclone Narelle impacts, all five campgrounds were listed as requiring full rebuild with radio/emergency-comms damage and no reopening date. VERIFY live status on alerts.dbca.wa.gov.au before any overnight plan.
Where should I stay?
Exmouth (northern gateway — airport, services, most tours) and Coral Bay (southern gateway) are the primary bases on this guide. When campgrounds reopen, book only via official Park Stay / Explore Parks WA.
Are there formal walking tracks?
No formal named walking tracks are listed on the official Nyinggulara park page. Plan for beach walking and informal shore access — not Cape Range gorge walks (different park).
Is this site official Explore Parks WA / DBCA?

Can I day-trip Ningaloo from Perth in a 2WD?
No. Perth–Exmouth is a long sealed haul (about 12–13+ hours each way in typical tourism figures), and the coastal strip is not a 2WD product. Fly to Learmonth or stay in Exmouth / Coral Bay. VERIFY campground status — do not beach-camp as a workaround.
